These Haunted Halloween Ghost Brownies from Blommi.com are a cute and simple concept. All you need are brownies, ghost Peeps and some marshmallow creme. Keep reading to find out if these brownies are as easy to make as they seem.
The best part about this recipe is the fact that you can put a little more time and effort into by baking your own brownies from scratch or you can grab a box of brownie mix and save some time. You can even go a step further and just buy some brownies from the bakery! Then, all you’ll need to do is grab a your marshmallow creme, peeps, a butane torch and put these brownies together.
The Sticky (or not sticky enough) Situation
If you’ve watched the video, you know this Stacey vs. Pinterest challenge was, surprisingly, not a success. While the concept seems very simple, the major problem came down to the Ghost Peeps not staying upright.
The “upside” is, this problem can be resolved by using a toothpick in each brownie to hold the Ghost Peeps up. If you try this recipe and run into the same issue grab some toothpicks and you’ll be okay.
After going through the recipe to determine what we may have done wrong, we think it came down to microwaving the Marshmallow Creme. The recipe calls for you to microwave the Marshmallow Creme for 20-30 seconds. We microwaved our creme for 20 seconds. If we had microwaved the Marshmallow Creme longer it likely would have crystalized the sugar in the creme making it thicker. This would have eliminated the issue with the Ghost Peeps not staying upright.
We did not test this theory, but, we highly recommend that anyone attempting this recipe pay close attention to the thickness of the marshmallow cream when microwaving. If it’s not thick enough, try heating it a bit longer.
We hope you can learn from our mistake and create some spooky Halloween Ghost Brownies! If you’re ready to get baking, head over to Blommi.com for the full recipe.
